Our special arrived at long last....12 Feburary 2009 will be a day we will never ever forget. This was the day we welcomed our precious little Carter into the world.
WHAT AN AMAZINGLY UNBELIEVABLE EXPREINCE!!!! I know i will never have the right words to give justice to the emotions and feeling that went thru us on this day but let me begin by telling you a little bit about how it all began...
Jerry and i went out for our last dinner as single parents on Wednesday the 11 Feb. i wasnt allowed to eat anything after 12am.So it was an early one.We went to bed and both tossed and turned the whole night.from 2.30am we decided that sleep wasnt going to happen and we just sat and chatted till 5am. Got ready and on the road by 5.30am.
Arrived at the hopital just before 6 and we were imeaditely welcomed and taken thru to where we needed to be by the most wonderful staff. They were so friendly and excited for us.
Had the heart montior on for a while and then got changed into my hospital gear and we waited for the big moment to arrive.
at 8.15 we got wheeled thru to theatre and again all the doctors, staff, specialists were just wonderful.this made things so calm and relaxed for me because by this time i was shaking like a leaf and i was very nervous.
Had my epidural, drip, cathitor ect all put in and within minutes i was sliced open and i felt lots of tugging and pushing and pulling going on down there but delighted that i couldnt see anything.Jerry sat by my side and i think was too scared to look too but he was such a support, holding my hand, telling me that im doing well and that i mustnt worry...until the baby suddenly came out and out came this sweet, precious little bellow of a cry! Jerry was gone from my side and whipped away to meet his little boy! Whilst getting finnished up and sewn up the paedetrition checked him and did all the neccesaries and then they placed him on my chest. I couldnt believe this was mine! my very own live child....
for years i played with dolls and spent all my pocket money on nappies, creams, clothes ect for my them, had it baby sat for me by a friend, Amy, who was also as mad about dolls when i had to go somewhere and couldnt take my doll with me. Being a mom was a childhood dream of mine.I spent hrs fantisizing about being a real mom oneday with a real baby that actually used all my nappies and creams and bits that i spent all my hard earned money on!
That day had finally come.As i looked at this perfect little being lying on my chest, the tears of happiness and abosolute pure joy rolled down my face.I looked at jerry and his face was all wet already from all the tears! what a beautiful and perfect moment...We are so blessed to have a healthy, strong, happy baby.
The days in the hospital that followed were wonderful.Meals bought to me,baby bought to me when needed feeding and whipped away to have nappy changed ect, whatever i wanted was at my command at the buzz of a bell.Life was great! Jerry spent the days with me and we just loved being together as our own little family.Had lots of visitors and flowers which was lovely.
We feel so bonded as a couple. Its amazing how a relationship goes to a much deeper more meaningful level when a baby that you have both helped to create comes into your life.
Life at home is also great.Carter is like textbook style he sleeps, eats and does all that follows like he should.
So far....so good.Im sure we in for some hairy times ahead but its times like these that will get us thru the tough times and ride the waves.
Carter James Haldane has bought us so much joy already. We cant wait to watch him grow into a handsome, good, strong, caring man just like his dad!
